before I leave, my last concern...

...Nor was it ever likely that they could have. Saddam Hussein, with U.N. approval, had systematically tipped huge business toward three members of the U.N.’s own Security Council — Russia, China, and France. Out of more than $110 billion worth of Saddam’s oil sales and relief purchases approved under Oil-for-Food, Russia and France were, respectively the number one and number two business partners of Saddam, both for buying lucrative Iraqi oil contracts and selling goods. China ranked in the top ten...

...In other words, Russia and France, chief veto-wielding wranglers with the U.S. and U.K. during the U.N. debate, were also among the chief profiteers under a corrupt UN program shepherding massive business with Saddam’s U.N.-sanctioned regime. Between them, by 2003, Russia and France had obtained more than $30 billion worth of Oil-for-Food deals, or almost one third of the total program. China accounted for another $4.3 billion. ...

Claudia Rosett's billet on National Review

I have sent a mail to Claudia, Im trying to remember it :

Dear Madam,

I have been reading your billet, and was wondering if there will not be a rabbit in the surprise-box, bingo !

There were more than 200 enterprises from world wide that benefited of the "oil for food " blurred trick, also Americans', cause your people know how ro open a blind letter box in foreign countries, be in France, be in Egypt, be in Jordania... Saddam buddies had PC in the nearest and empathetic countries, where they could launch their orders. Even so, if it was for oil lower prices, our tankers stocked their merchendise in Fos sur Mer, where american oil tankers stopped and filled their tanks. Wouldn't you think that american oil Cies wouldn't jump on the opportunity to buy cheap oil ? nahhh!

Got an exemple of how your fellows can conturn the UStates laws : in the earlier eighties I lived in a city in northern Paris surburbs. The Russians had a castel in the nearby, say "cure and rest" for tired nomenklature managers. The Americans also had an anonym office, "Cryo & etc" in front of the hotel that my hubby managed. Your country fellows used to come over for lunches and for festing their business successes. We almost were the only ones to know their existence, except their customers.

Bizarrely the custumers were Russians, Chineses, Cubans... all from "evil" nations designated by your contextual administration, may-be also Iranians (Iran gate anyone ?), difficult to discern that on their faces. Anyway, do you think that these people were there for buying Cryo sperms technics ? I doubt so.

Sincerely

XXXX

While I am at it, one the guis' name was Chesney, kinda the boss that came for monthly controls. I remember him, not a too tall man, but of average size, a blond and "avenant" person that spoke fluentely french. He said that he had businesses in Florida, like some sort of imprecise commercial centers promotor... um !!! but not of that famous Chesney family ??????

He also propoed us to emigrate to the States, he, we were a sympathetic family ! Though he saw me to anim a french food stand, "les crêpes bretonnes", and I would have to disguise myself with a weird britton costum, that I absolutely refused to envisage... anyway it sounded not like a serious proposition, so we just thought, one more customer that takes his dreams for real !

then we moved to another hotel... so !

I almost forgot that story until I discovered how we were sullied with this "oil for food" shame

He, as we say here, "history serves its dishes twice"
